• Authentication and Authorizing Accounts:
Creating and administering accounts, controlling access (ACLs), and troubleshooting.
• Using Open Directory: We take a look at Apple’s directory services implementation, Open Directory. Understand the various types of directory server available, why we use them. We also look at how to troubleshoot and backup the contents of the directory server.
• Using File Services: In the section we configure and troubleshoot the various file sharing services built into Mac OS X including Apple File Services, SMB, NFS and FTP.
• Managing Web Services: Web services play an important role in Mac OS X Server. Learn how to configure a traditional multiple site web server as well as how enable security and WebDAV access.
• Using Collaborative Services:
Setting up and configuring wikis and blogs, providing iChat and iCal services to assist people working together, and configuring Address Book service to share contact information amongst multiple computers.
• Implementing Deployment Solutions: Understand Apple’s deployment services. Learn how to build NetInstall, NetRestore and NetBoot images. Understand the infrastructure required to host a deployment solution.
