Course Description:

This 1-day audio editing course will give established FCP editors with a limited knowledge of audio finishing techniques the opportunity to learn key skills to improve the sound and finished quality of their programs. In today's pressurised content delivery environment where editors are expected to understand grading, graphic design and sound, this course will offer key workflow scenarios aimed at achieving a high quality soundtrack. Your trainer will navigate you through the essential tools in FCP and Soundtrack Pro (with a particular focus on Soundtrack Pro) used to fix, improve and mix sounds providing a professional sounding finish for a variety of production types. This course will cover the interface, working with dialogue, mixing, effects, sound design and output.

Introduction to Soundtrack Pro Panes and tabs, the main timeline, tools, processing clips.

Lesson 2

Working with Dialogue Send to Soundtrack Pro Multitrack, timeline editing, frequency spectrum, noise reduction, lift and stamp, file editor.

Lesson 3

Starting to Mix Tracks, mixing, audio stretch tool, spot to playhead, recording a voice over,
exporting mix to Final Cut Pro.

Lesson 4

Getting to grips with Soundtrack Pro Signal flow, real time effects, surround, editing tips and tricks

Lesson 5

Sound Design Search tab, bin, groups, multipoint video HUD, timeslice
